– A witness had seen a man approach an elderly lady and claim that she had got bird poo on her clothes. He will then help brush away the poo, in connection with that the man steals a necklace from the lady, says police spokesperson Björn Öberg.
The witness who observed the course of events was able to run after the perpetrator and confront him. The stolen necklace was then thrown away and the perpetrator fled the scene.
This is the second crime of a similar nature in Norrköping in a short time and the police suspect that it may be the same perpetrator.
– It is very possible that it is the same perpetrator, or even probable. This type of approach is really nothing new, but now that there are two similar cases in a short time in the same city, it can be assumed that it is the same person who committed the crimes, says Björn Öberg.
The police have a description of the suspect and urge the public to contact the police if they witnessed any of the robberies.
