Biopics on the Beatles will offer the public a completely

The release date and the casting of the four biopics centered on the Beatles was formalized during the Cinemacon de Las Vegas.

Rumors have been going well for many months, they are now formalized: the casting of the four biopics Dedicated to each member of the Beatles was revealed during the Cinemacon of Las Vegas on the night of Monday to Tuesday. Paul MESCAL (Normal people, Gladiator II) was confirmed in the shoes of Paul McCartney while Harris Dickinson (Babygirl) will be John Lennon. To complete the mythical quartet, these are Joseph Quinn (The fantastic four, Stranger Things) and Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) who will respectively be George Harrison and Ringo Starr. No surprise on this front, since the names of these four actors were already the subject of rumors.

Titled The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic EventThe project already promises to be completely very ambitious. Director Sam Mendes (1917, Skyfall …) provides four separate films, each dedicated to one of the Fab Four. “Here is perhaps the opportunity to understand them a little better,” said the filmmaker on the scene of Las Vegas, promising that these four feature films were going to tell “a single story”, that of the legendary British rock group, according to “four different points of view”.

Four films and a simultaneous release

According to him, the boss of Sony Pictures, Tom Rothman, would have described the project as “first experience of cinema in Binger”, a concept of bulimic viewing which traditionally associates with streaming series. The viewing of these four films promises to be an unprecedented experience: it was confirmed that the four films would be released in April 2028, reveals the Hollywood Reporter. Will they be broadcast a week apart, encouraging the spectators conquered to return to theaters, or at the same time? Unless another strategy is planned?

The process has not yet been revealed, but it is in any case never seen for a musical biopic. “Ube daring idea deserves a daring outing strategy”, had indeed commented Tom Rothman at the microphone of the Hollywood Reporter in 2024. “A project like this is unheard of, and we cannot imagine it in traditional outings”.
