Billström discussed NATO with Blinken

Foreign Minister Tobias Billström (M) spoke with US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken on Thursday, among other things about Sweden’s and Finland’s entry into NATO.

On Twitter, Blinken congratulates his Swedish counterpart on his new ministerial post.

“Excellent first conversation today and I look forward to building on the strong relationship between the US and Sweden,” writes Blinken.

“Had a very productive conversation with Blinken today, about many topics of interest to both Sweden and the USA,” writes Billström on the same site.

According to White House spokesman Ned Price, they also discussed how to deal with “the challenges we face” from China and the cooperation between the EU and the US during Sweden’s presidency of the union in 2023.
