Billionaire Tom Hagen, suspected of his wife’s disappearance, was acquitted | News in brief

Tom Hagen is one of the richest people in Norway. Hagen was suspected of his wife’s murder or complicity in the murder for more than four years.

Billionaire With Tom Hagen had no part in his wife’s disappearance, the Norwegian prosecutor stated on Friday.

The news was reported by a Norwegian NRK.

Hagen has been suspected of his wife’s murder or involvement in the murder for more than four years.

Now the national prosecutor has decided that the charges must be dismissed due to insufficient evidence, the police said at a press conference on Friday.

Hagen’s wife Anne-Elisabeth Hagen disappeared from his home in October 2018.

The police announced the disappearance at a press conference in early 2019.

The police suspected that Hagen had been kidnapped. A ransom demand of nine million euros had been found in the Hagens’ home. According to the captors, Hagen was alive.

In June 2019, the police said they believed that Anne-Elisabeth Hagen was no longer alive.

In 2020, the police arrested Hagen on suspicion of murdering his wife or aiding in it. Hagen was released from pretrial detention in May 2020. According to the Court of Appeal, the police’s evidence against him was not sufficient to charge him with his wife’s murder.

Although Hagen is no longer on the list of suspects, the police emphasized at Friday’s press conference that the investigation into the disappearance of Anne-Elisabeth Hagen is not over yet.
