The airline SAS reports a pre-tax loss of SEK 1,991 million for the broken financial year’s third quarter (May to July).
This can be compared with a loss of SEK 1,334 million during the corresponding period last year.
The high-profile pilot strike took place in the first half of July. SAS writes that the 15-day strike “strongly affected the result”. According to the company, it is a cost of SEK 1.4 billion for the strike so far.
Revenues for the company amounted to SEK 8,580 million, compared to SEK 3,982 the year before.
At the beginning of July, SAS applied for a so-called chapter 11 procedure in the USA, regarding financial reconstruction.
