Adopted home of Hollywood: The Kaulitz twins fit perfectly into the glamor paradise
The Tokio Hotel stars used to be known as cheeky teenage rockers, but those days are a long time ago. (Read all about their drastic change here.) The Magdeburg boys have become stylish cosmopolitans who are welcome guests on the red carpet. Tom usually acts casually cool, while Bill clearly enjoys attracting attention with daring fashion looks.
In their successful podcast “Kaulitz Hills – Mustard from Hollywood”, where they share anecdotes from their turbulent life in Los Angeles, the twins prove that they feel right at home in the glittering world of Hollywood. Tom Kaulitz in particular has risen to the ranks of A-list celebrities thanks to his wedding to megastar Heidi Klum. Luxury parties, exclusive dinners and invitations to award shows have long since become part of everyday life. “My underwear was everywhere”: This moment changed Bill Kaulitz forever
The year is 2010: Tokio Hotel is at the peak of success, with the whole of Europe at the feet of the successful rock band. No matter where they perform, the picture is the same: thousands of teenagers screaming their hearts out and can hardly believe that they are finally seeing their idols up close. Unfortunately, some “fans” go way overboard.
Bill Kaulitz revealed to ARTE Tracks that he was the victim of a stalking attack. At that time, the Kaulitz brothers lived together in a villa in Hamburg, but then the shocking moment came: When Bill came home, he noticed that an obsessive fan broke in and went through his private belongings:
“My underwear, photos and song lyrics were everywhere.”
Bill couldn’t deal with the fear of further attacks: “I didn’t want to go back to our house after that.”
The Kaulitz escape from Germany: “LA saved us”
It was time for the brothers to make a change: “We just realized that it wasn’t possible anymore.” The twins confessed in their documentary soap Kaulitz & Kaulitz that they constantly felt restricted in Germany: “Our lives used to be withdrawn, consumed by fear and cut off from the outside world.”
That’s why we had to move – to a country where the Tokio Hotel stars were largely unknown: the USA. There the musicians could finally breathe deeply again and enjoy privacy. “LA and moving to America saved us,” says Bill in Kaulitz & Kaulitz. He proudly shows on Instagram how much he enjoys his celebrity life in Hollywood:
