The new MMORPG Tower of Fantasy has been playable on PC, iOS and Android since August 11th. Many have tried it, including Asmongold. The Twitch streamer gave the game several hours of airtime on his secondary channel and then decided: this is Pay2Win.
What kind of game is this?

“Limited Pay2Win in PvP”
Asmongold says: Asmongold played Tower of Fantasy for about 6 hours on his second channel zackrawrr and tried out some of the mechanics. Including the game’s gacha system.
In a compilation, Asmongold shows why he considers Tower of Fantasy a Pay2Win game. He opens several loot boxes in a row, only free ones at first. In these he finds mainly batteries – items with which he can not do much.
But when he pays once, he has Samir in the first box, one of the strongest characters in Tower of Fantasy, as he is told in the chat:
The Twitch streamer explains that the Pay2Win factor is primarily limited to PvE, which is not very demanding anyway. In PvP, this is hardly noticeable and those who only play PvP have no problems at all with Pay2Win.
PvP is actually the point where Pay2Win is always a topic among players. Many players just don’t think it’s fair to simply be able to pay for a win. According to Asmongold, this is only possible to a limited extent in Tower of Fantasy.
How is Tower of Fantasy doing otherwise? In the Apple Store and on Google Play, Tower of Fantasy has good ratings of more than 4 stars, even if there were some problems such as long waiting times for release and quite strange bugs.
Even Asmongold praises the game. In a tweet, he explains that the world looks good and the combat system is “neat”. The story can be compared to that of Lost Ark. But he wants to play more first before deciding whether to stay longer or not.
According to Asmongold, the reason why Pay2Win games were able to get so big is simply that more players would agree to them. Asmongold already demonstrated the system effectively with the controversial Diablo Immortal:
