In the broadcast from Discovery+, it was seen how supporters of both teams broke through barriers between the stand sections, sought each other out to fight or throw things and pyrotechnics at each other.
AIK’s star striker John Guidetti thinks the whole thing is deplorable.
– It’s boring. It shouldn’t have to lead to that. Hammarby needs AIK and AIK needs Hammarby. There needs to be a rivalry, but it must end on the pitch and with stands chanting against each other. Then of course you can celebrate when you win and go proudly to work the next day, he says in Discovery+.
AIK CEO Manuel Lindberg tells Aftonbladet that it is “very sad for Swedish football”.
– It is completely unacceptable and we will of course investigate what has happened together with the police. If there were unfortunate circumstances or something in the security arrangement that has gone wrong, says Lindberg.
The match ended 2–2.
