A storm stopped Ludvig Åberg from challenging Wyndham Clark for the victory at classic Pebble Beach.
The Swedish golf star finished second after the final round was canceled – but can console himself with a prize check of close to SEK 23 million.
The PGA Tour event at Pebble Beach in California was reduced from 72 to 54 holes after rain and strong winds forced the organizer to cancel the final round.
The American Wyndham Clarkwhich was one stroke ahead Ludvig Åberg ahead of the intended fourth round, was therefore declared the winner.
– This is perhaps not how you dream of winning. Having said that, there were many of us who already yesterday had the feeling that it might be our last round, says Wyndham Clark after the announcement that the competition is over.

On Saturday, Clark set the course record when he went around the iconic course in 60 strokes. As he walked up to the final green on Saturday, he already felt, in a way, like a winner.
– Everyone celebrated and congratulated me. I even said to myself that “it feels like I just won the competition”, even though we had one more round to play. And then you wake up today that they cancel the game, says Clark.
Ludvig Åberg thus missed out on taking his second victory on the PGA Tour, and a victory check of around SEK 38 million. Still, he did not become completely unlucky. The runner-up receives SEK 23 million for their efforts.
