A fire broke out at around 16:45 local time yesterday in an area where old cars were parked in the Centocelle region of Rome, the capital of Italy. The fire grew with the effect of the wind and spread to the surrounding forest area and some buildings. While it was stated that explosion sounds were heard in the messages reflected on the social media, black smoke was seen from many parts of the city.

Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri warned residents in the surrounding buildings not to open their windows due to the heavy smoke cloud.
Gualtieri stated that there is no information about the cause of the incident yet and that an investigation is being carried out.
It was stated that the fire started in a car park where old vehicles were destroyed in the Centocelle region.
