Between 1,800 and 3,200 people per day have visited Gröna Lund since the reopening of the amusement park, according to figures from Parks and Resorts, which owns Gröna Lund.
This can be compared with between 5,100 and 10,300 visitors per day in the week before the accident.
“The numbers show that there is a concern, they are lower than the daily average for the previous year. That is probably the primary reason, the secondary is that last week was unfortunately also heavy with rain,” writes Max Lagerbäck, Acting Director of Information for Parks and Resorts, in a comment to TT.
The daily average for 2022 was around 8,000 visitors per day.
Woman died
It was on June 25 that the Jetline roller coaster derailed. A 35-year-old woman died and nine people were injured, including several children.
The National Accident Commission has started an investigation into the accident and a prosecutor-led police investigation is also underway to investigate whether any crime has been committed in connection with the accident.
In addition to Gröna Lund’s internal controls, all amusement park and amusement park attractions undergo annual external inspections before the season begins.
Jetline passed the latest inspection, carried out by the independent inspection company Dekra at the beginning of June, with no complaints.
Canceled events
In addition to three gigs that were canceled during the shutdown, the concerts at Gröna Lund during July and August will remain as planned.
However, the amusement park announces that the events Tik tok Experience and Night rider, where the park was supposed to be open extra long, are postponed until next year due to the accident, reports The Express.
