Vitesse-AFC is on on the television screens in the canteen, but the members would have preferred to see another match. “It’s really a shame. You come here for a fun game, but unfortunately,” says one of the members. “A lot has been organized and arranged so it’s a real shame,” said another. Yet the atmosphere remains friendly and the club culture becomes visible through the setbacks. “It doesn’t make the beer taste any less good,” it says. And “we’re having a nice time together now, so we’ll just make the best of it,” says a boy with a jug of beer at the table.
