BIG CONGRATULATIONS: Sebastian Samuelsson turns 27 – now reveals his true thoughts about the big life change: “I think that…”

The season was not what Sebastian Samuelsson had hoped for.
Now he is looking forward to a new chapter in his life.
– I am very much looking forward to it, he says.

As always, Sebastian Samuelsson had high expectations for himself when he started the just-ended biathlon season. Above all, many were looking forward to seeing him fight for medals during the Biathlon World Cup, but there it was a big disappointment.

Big life change

Apart from a slightly sensational gold in the men’s relay, there was no individual medal for Samuelsson, who went home from the WC with fifth place as the best individual. But the winter has nevertheless, in a completely different way, been memorable for him. The day after the WC’s last race, Samuelsson came out with some big news. He and partner Linnéa Karlsson are expecting their first child.

And now a completely new chapter awaits in the life of Sebastian Samuelsson, who turns 27 today. And he thinks it could benefit him in biathlon as well.

– I’m really looking forward to it and it’s sinking in more and more, says Sebastian Samuelsson to DN, and continues:

– It is difficult to know what to expect. But I think it is something that will give a lot of energy.

Tributes from teammates

Sebastian Samuelsson is one of the great leaders in the biathlon national team, and teammate Martin Ponsiluoma is convinced that “Sebbe” will succeed well as a parent.

– I think he will be an incredibly good father. He cares very much and I just think he will do it gallantly, says Martin Ponsiluoma to Expressen.

Even Mona Brorsson, the national team’s great veteran who ends her career after the season, has been teammates with Samuelsson since his big breakthrough.

– It is absolutely incredible. Large. I still have the picture of Sebbe from when he was 18 years old and could barely take care of himself, because it really is. This team has grown up together and he is the first to take this big step. It will also be a little reality check, we are growing up, she says of Samuelsson’s family announcement.
