The unemployed had a nasty surprise this Monday morning.
There are numerous messages of despair on social networks. This Monday morning, thousands of unemployed people had an unpleasant surprise: the France Travail website, the new name of Pôle Emploi, is not working. Except that if in “normal” times, this could pass for a trivial event, it is of particular importance for the 5 million job seekers registered with the organization. Indeed, this November 28 is not a trivial day for people who do not have work and this bug could not be without consequences for their finances…
Every month, from the 28th, unemployed people must connect to the France Travail website. In their personal space, it is obligatory to take steps to indicate to the operator whether their situation has changed or not: resumption of activity, training follow-up, retirement pension, disability, sick leave or even leave maternity… So many elements that must be updated monthly.
However, it is impossible to update this Monday. The website is inaccessible. “502 Bad Gateway: Registered endpoint failed to handle the request” was displayed on the home page during the morning, before France Travail published a message to indicate that the site “is under maintenance.” A backup platform to update it is offered but the web page does not load either.
For the unemployed, this is not without consequences. In fact, updating is mandatory in order to be able to receive unemployment. Without this process, the payment is not made to the bank account. And when the update is done, it takes three business days to receive the money.
With the 1er November which falls on a Friday, this postponed – at the earliest – the payment to Monday November 4. But with this bug, beneficiaries could only receive their due on Tuesday the 5th if everything is not in order during the day. The people concerned, however, have until November 15 to update them, but this will delay the payment date of their allowance accordingly.
