With the party’s primary election in Georgia, Biden has the support of a majority, over 1,968, of the delegates who will formally decide in August that he will be their candidate.

“He (Trump) is running a campaign marked by bitterness and vindictiveness that goes against the idea of what America is and stands for,” Biden said in a statement.
“I am honored that the broad coalition of voters representing the diversity of the Democratic Party around the country have once again placed their trust in me to lead the party and the country at a time when the threat posed by Trump is greater than ever,” adds Biden, who turns 82 in November.

Trump also looks set to win his party’s primary election in Georgia, but needs the support of another ten delegates to have a majority of delegates at the Republican nomination meeting behind him this summer.
It is not entirely certain that he will gather a sufficient number already during Tuesday, in addition to Georgia also Mississippi, Washington state and Hawaii. But like Biden, he has no opponents left to measure himself against.
