Biden on Charles: “I worry about him”

Several of the world’s leaders have reacted to the news that Britain’s King Charles is being treated for cancer. The president of the United States tells the media that he tried to call the king after being contacted by the message, reports ABC News.

– I worry about him. I just heard about his diagnosis but I will talk to him.

Rishi Sunak, the British Prime Minister, wished the king a “speedy and full recovery” via social media.

From France, President Emmanuel Macron sends a greeting via X, formerly Twitter.

“Wishing His Majesty King Charles III a speedy recovery. Our thoughts go out to the British people,” writes Macron.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also took to social media to say his “thoughts are with” Charles, who he hopes makes a speedy recovery.

It was on Monday that the news came that the king is being treated for cancer, of a type that has not been made public. The disease was discovered in connection with Charles’ operation last weekend for an enlarged prostate – but it should not be about prostate cancer.

King Charles continues to serve as Britain’s head of state, but has temporarily suspended his official duties. Other high-ranking members of the royal household are expected to attend to the king’s commitments.
