President of the United States Joe Biden urges the country’s Congress to immediately take up the Ukrainian aid approved by the Senate early on Tuesday.
The Democratic-led Senate approved a more than $95 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. According to Biden, rejecting aid to Ukraine would play directly into the hands of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
– The world is watching us, Biden said.
Hard-line Republicans in Congress oppose the proposed aid to Ukraine.
– We can’t wait any longer. The price is getting too high, especially for Ukraine, Biden said.
Trump’s NATO speeches are a total failure
Biden also took a strong stand against the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s to talk about NATO. Over the weekend, Trump let it be understood that the United States would not protect those NATO countries that do not pay sufficient defense expenses, but would directly urge Russia to attack such countries.
Biden condemned Trump’s speeches as “stupid and shameful”.
