Biden: Israel offers Hamas ‘roadmap’ to end Gaza war – Hamas welcomes proposal | Foreign countries

Biden Israel offers Hamas roadmap to end Gaza war

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office released a statement saying the war in Gaza will not end until the extremist organization Hamas’ ability to rule and wage war is destroyed.

President of the United States Joe Biden said on Friday that Israel has offered a “road map” that would lead to lasting peace in Gaza.

Biden urged the extremist organization Hamas to accept the surprise agreement.

– It’s time for this war to end and for tomorrow to begin, Biden said.

According to Biden, the proposal begins with a six-week phase that includes a full ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all residential areas of Gaza, as well as the release of hostages taken by Hamas in exchange for the release of Palestinians captured by Israel. 600 carloads of humanitarian aid would also be brought to Gaza every day.

During the second phase of the plan, Hamas and Israel are supposed to negotiate the terms of a permanent ceasefire.

– The ceasefire will continue as the negotiations continue, Biden said.

The third phase of the plan would be the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Hamas said it was positive about the proposal.

According to Hamas, it welcomes and constructively approaches any proposal, which is based on a permanent ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes and a serious prisoner exchange.

Netanyahu: Hamas’ ability to destroy

Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that the war in Gaza will not end until the extremist group Hamas’ ability to rule and wage war is destroyed.

According to a press release from Netanyahu’s office, the goal of the Israeli government is to have the hostages taken by Hamas released.

– The Prime Minister has authorized the negotiators to present an outline to achieve this goal, but the war will not end until all our goals have been achieved. These include the release of all our hostages and the destruction of Hamas’ administrative and military capabilities, the office said in a statement.

According to the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health, approximately 36,300 people have been killed in Israel’s attack on Gaza, which has lasted more than half a year. Israel started the war in Gaza after Hamas attacked Israel in early October. According to the Israeli authorities, about 1,200 people were killed in the Hamas attack.
