US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden are visiting the state of Kentucky to witness the damage caused by the floods in the state.

At least 37 people have died as a result of the floods, which have led to bridges and houses being swept away by the waters.

On location in the state, the presidential couple was met by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. Among other things, they visited a place where a school bus crashed into a partially collapsed building.

Beshear said the flooding is “unlike anything we’ve ever seen,” and was positive that Biden quickly approved federal aid. Biden promised continued help.

– We will not leave, as long as needed we will be here, said the president.
