US President Joe Biden spoke with both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas during Saturday.

In a separate phone call with Abbas, Biden said he condemns terror-labeled Hamas but also stressed that “Hamas does not stand for the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination,” according to the White House.

Biden spoke with both leaders about joint efforts by the United Nations, Egypt and Jordan to secure the delivery of humanitarian aid and ensure that civilians in Gaza have access to water, health care and food.

Biden also gave an update on U.S. military support for Israel in his conversation with Netanyahu, which was the fifth conversation since Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel last week.

It was the first known conversation since the attack between Biden and Abbas, who is the leader of the Palestinians in the West Bank.
