“We will continue to move forward with Israel’s integration into the region,” Biden said when he arrived with Air Force One.
Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said the two statesmen will discuss the establishment of a new structure on security and economic issues with Middle Eastern countries.
“And we will discuss the need to renew a strong global coalition that can stop Iran’s nuclear program,” he added.
During his visit to Israel, Biden will, among other things, meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the occupied West Bank, but there are no expectations of any bold proposals regarding a renewed peace process.
Bidens continues on Friday to Saudi Arabia, which is the primary destination of his Middle East trip.
