U.S. President Joe Biden allegedly got angry with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy while discussing financing and military aid to Ukraine on the phone last June.

Tensions were allegedly escalated in a phone conversation between US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. In the news in the US press, it was stated that tensions rose between the two in one of the meetings that have become a routine between Biden and Zelenskiy since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Citing four sources said to be familiar with the meeting, the news reported that Biden and Zelenskiy lost their temper in a phone call last June. In the report, it was stated that as soon as Biden finished his statements about the additional $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine during the meeting, Zelenskiy began listing all the additional aid Ukraine needed and could not receive, and Biden was enraged thereupon. The report also stated that senior officials of the US government felt that despite Biden and his administration doing their best, Zelenskiy continued to focus on what was not done in public opinion.

Officials said Biden and Zelenskiy’s relationship had improved since the phone call in June, and after the meeting, Zelenskiy made a statement praising the United States for its generous assistance. Zelenskiy said in the video, “I had an important meeting with US President Biden today. I am grateful for this support. It is especially important for our defense in the Donbas.”
Biden, who made a statement after the meeting, said that he informed Zelenskiy about the $1 billion aid and promised that the United States would “not give up its commitment to the Ukrainian people who are fighting for their freedom”.
