According to the written statement made by the White House, US President Biden signed the presidential decree prepared against those who undermine security in the West Bank.
With the decree, extremist Jewish settlers who have recently committed violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank will be subject to sanctions by the US administration. Those included in the sanctions list will not be able to make transactions within the American financial system, will not be able to obtain a visa to this country, their assets in the USA, if any, will be frozen and American citizens will be prohibited from doing business with these people.
4 PEOPLE WERE INCLUDED IN THE SANCTIONS LIST
In his relevant statement, Biden noted that they took this step to ensure that security and stability in the West Bank were not disrupted and that acts of violence against Palestinians in the region were unacceptable. A White House official, who held a background meeting on the issue, stated that 4 people whose names were not mentioned within the scope of the decree in question have already been included in the sanctions list.
At least 381 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli forces and illegal Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7, 2023. (AA)
