The attraction stopped in the air. Photo: Reader picture
Shortly after 4 p.m., two of the Lisebergsbanan trains stopped. Pictures show how visitors are evacuated several meters into the air.
– There are two trains that stopped and around 30 people were evacuated, says Mårten Westlund, press spokesperson at Liseberg.
He states that one of the trains stopped on the way to the attraction’s highest point.
– It is difficult to say exactly how many meters it is. But everything has gone smoothly and quietly.
Technicians have been called to the scene and will now investigate the cause of the stoppage.
– It sounds dramatic, but as soon as a system indicates something, the attraction is stopped for safety reasons, says Mårten Westlund.
A witness tells Aftonbladet that he saw how people suddenly climbed down the Lisebergsbanan.
– It looked really scary. We had intended to ride it later, but now we won’t.
