Biden announces increase in military aid to kyiv – LExpress

US President Joe Biden announced on Thursday, September 26, an “increase” in military aid to Ukraine, with an envelope of nearly 8 billion dollars and new long-range munitions, before a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Today, I am announcing increased security assistance for Ukraine and a series of additional actions to help Ukraine win this war,” Biden said in a statement, which did not, however, mention the green light hoped for by kyiv to fire long-range missiles made in the United States toward Russia.

Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the announcement, which he said would help Ukraine’s “victory” in the war against Russia. “We will use this assistance in the most effective and transparent way to achieve our common main goal: Ukraine’s victory, a just and lasting peace,” the Ukrainian president, who is currently visiting the United States, said on Telegram.
