Biden announced billions in arms sales to Israel – almost 90 dead in Gaza during the day | News in brief

US President Joe Biden has informed Congress about major arms deals with Israel, Reuters sources say.

The US president has notified the country’s Congress of the planned $8 billion arms deal with Israel, US official sources tell Reuters.

Arms deals needed approval from the relevant committees of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Arms sales would include various ammunition for fighters, attack helicopters and artillery.

There would also be smaller-sized bombs and warheads, Reuters’ sources say.

Some of the content of the arms trade would be delivered immediately, some in the coming years.
