Now the olive tree motion in itself was not the reason for the VVD to withdraw its chestnut tree motion. It is the way in which DENK came up with its own motion without consultation that is disappointing to the VVD. The second motion is very similar in tone and wording the firstthe request to the council has been copied verbatim, with the text only being adapted to the olive tree and Gaza. The name is also almost identical: ‘Natural Respect’ (VVD) and ‘Respect Natural’ (DENK).
