Biathlon Worlds: the mixed relay for Norway, France takes bronze

Biathlon Worlds the mixed relay for Norway France takes bronze

First race and first gold medal for Norway in the mixed relay of the biathlon world championships this Wednesday, February 8

For the first race of the world championships, Norway was ruthless! Despite a very delicate start to the race with the women, the Norwegians won the gold medal in the mixed relay thanks to the spectacular passages of Stuart Lagreid and especially the leader of the World Cup, Johannes Boe. Neck and neck with France during the passage of the last stint, the Norwegian very quickly took off on skis and turned his back on the shots. With three pickaxes on the recumbent, just like Quentin Fillon MailletJohannes Boe opened the door to Italy before finally taking the upper hand on the last lap of the race.

Considered as an outsider in the race, the French team respected its status. Thanks to Julia Simon, Anaïs Chevalier Bouchet, Simon Jacquelin, the Blues were leading the mixed relay. But with three picks on the first shot and a slower ski than last year, Quentin Fillon Maillet could not compete with Norway and Italy, but still won a very nice bronze medal thanks to a very good standing shot.
