Biathlon: Ulf Eriksson will be the biathlon team’s new fence manager

“I look forward with great confidence to the assignment as head of range for the national biathlon team. A strong team that has had a nice development and being able to be part of building it further feels exciting and inspiring. Now I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know my new colleagues ,” says Eriksson in a press release.

For Hanna Öberg, Sebastian Samuelsson and the other biathlon stars, the next two seasons await the WC 2025 in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, and then the big goal: the 2026 Olympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy.

“Ulf has the profile we were looking for. He has exactly the right qualities both as a breeder and as a leader through his background as an entrepreneur. We look forward to Ulf leading the team’s continued development towards the upcoming championships,” says Rikard Grip, secretary general of the Biathlon Association.

The former head coach, Kent Norell, chose in May to leave his position in the national team after 15 years in the post.

“I have worked in the role of head of the polling station for about 15 years and now feel that I want to take on new challenges in working life. It is time for someone else to take over and step in with new energy and enthusiasm,” he said at the time.
