Biathlon: Norwegian dominance in the pursuit start – Samuelsson sixth

It looked so good for Sebastian Samuelsson.

With full shooting in prone, the Swede had moved up from his fifth place and it was a wasp’s nest in the fight for the podium places.

Then came the booms.

Samuelsson burned two in his first standing shooting and lost the lead considerably.

– I thought to the first standing shooting that now it’s me and five Norwegians and almost the whole world is cheering me on. But I didn’t really succeed, says Samuelsson.

What happens?

– I actually feel pretty good standing. If I’m going to compare with yesterday, I’m being a bit too careful and careful.

There was another miss in the final shooting and Samuelsson went in sixth, behind five Norwegians.

Johannes Thingnes Bö won, despite three bars in prone. It was the Norwegian sovereign’s 18th WC gold in his career.

Second was Sturla Holm Lägreid ahead of Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen.

Second best Swede was Martin Ponsiluoma in seventh place.

– I want to get on the podium, that’s where you want to go. In any case, the skiing works well and it’s nice to have with you. Now it is rising form, says Martin Ponsiluoma.

Viktor Brandt was 33rd and Jesper Nelin finished in 41st place. He received a minute added after clashing with Emilien Jacquelin.
