The fight for the gold became a showdown between the sisters Elvira and Hanna Öberg. They came in at the same time for the last shooting and after one miss on Elvira and two on Hanna, it was clear where the gold would end up.
Hanna Öberg went out two seconds ahead of Brorsson, who got a good push for the bronze in the sprint lap.
The Öberg sisters left an otherwise good handicap to the rest of the field by getting two misses in the first horizontal shooting and finishing 12th and 13th a full 44 seconds after Brorsson, who then led the race.
