Biathlon: Linn Persson after the successful competition: “It could have gone a little faster”

Linn Persson was left out of the WC sprint earlier in the championship but was back on Tuesday afternoon during the distance race.

The 29-year-old took advantage of the chance and finished tenth in the competition (second best Swede after Mona Brorsson in ninth place). Persson shot full in the first three series but then missed a shot in the last shootout.

– Ohh, that shot is so low for me. I push off too early, two centimeters below the dot. It was a mistake, it’s clear that it’s very sad, she tells SVT Sport after the competition.

19 out of 20 shots hit and also in terms of driving it was right for the Swede – who still admits that there was more to give.

– I have respect for the length of the distance (15 km, editor’s note). I probably could have pushed a little more. I’m a little afraid that I’ll run out. There was a little too much power left when I reached the finish line. I think they could have gone a little faster, but overall I have a good race, she concludes.

Italian Lisa Vittozzi won the race – 20.5 seconds ahead of German Janina Hettich-Walz and 29.6 seconds ahead of Julia Simon.
