Biathlon: Jesper Nelin brought Sweden to the podium in the single mixed

Nelin could throw a glance back on the rally and find that the bang was a fact after just having to pick four extras in total on eight shooters.

– Great fun, we are doing incredibly well today. What I can see we have the best shooting and it is a small revenge for both me and Jesper for last week’s relay, says Skotheim after 19 out of 20 hits.

After the last shooter, Nelin passed the German Justus Strelow but had several sharp teams close behind that wanted to challenge the podium.

“Can be worried on the slopes”

– I don’t get any times what it looks like so I have time to get worried on the slopes when I start to get really mute but it went well anyway, says Nelin who went out as second – 2.5 seconds after Switzerland where Niklas Hartweg went in pairs with Aita Gasparin.

Hartweg went fast and shot fast and despite two extra shoots in the last standing shooter, he was able to go out in a safe lead and give Switzerland his first victory in a World Cup relay.

It was a gratifying Swedish success that warmed.

– Really nice for both Skottheim and Nelin to get to it and cope with this press, says expert Björn Ferry.

Two distances were taken in the baton.
