Biathlon: Hanna Öberg gets to test the Olympic courses: “Completely new”

Hanna Öberg is in search of the famous top form.

The next opportunity to get another step closer will be during the World Cup in Antholz after the curve started to move in the right direction last weekend.

But there is one factor that affects the conditions.

– Here, it’s a bit special to get up to the height and not be prepared for it. It is always a bit uncertain how to handle it. For me, a goal is to go into the sprint tomorrow and feel that I’m not afraid of the height, take it and do it as well as possible, says Öberg to SVT Sport.

At least last weekend she had to finish with a top ten position.

– For me, it has more often been that I go out in the first race and don’t dare to drive because I’m afraid of getting that bang, then you don’t really get everything out. But I think it’s important to find the right starting speed and the right load when the lactic acid starts to build up.

Öberg ahead of the WC: “Starting to fall into place”

On it, Öberg and her teammates will get a taste of the upcoming Olympic track ahead of the party in Milan and Cortina in just over a year.

She herself is optimistic about what is to come as the WC is only a few weeks away.

– It’s nice that all the parts are starting to fall into place. I still miss the last real finish to achieve a real top race, says Öberg.

The Antholz competitions start with a sprint today, the broadcast starts 14.20 in SVT1/Play, and are the last in the World Cup before the World Cup, which begins on February 12.
