Biathlon: Doldisen Anna-Karin Heijdenberg won SM gold in roller ski biathlon ahead of the Öberg sisters

Anna-Karin Heijdenberg will make her first World Cup season in the Swedish national biathlon team next winter.

On Friday, she got off to a flying start to the pre-season when she won the SM gold in roller ski shooting in the sprint in Dala-Järna.

– It feels great fun. On the final lap, I heard that both Elvira and Hanna had missed two stops and I know that they are really strong. Lucky they missed a bit otherwise I probably wouldn’t have taken it today, says Anna-Karin Heijdenberg.

Yes, Elvira and Hanna Öberg shot two bars each in standing shooting and finished third and fifth respectively.

The gold battle was instead between Heijdenberg and Johanna Skottheim, both with full shooting, and in the end Heijdenberg was 3.5 seconds faster than Skottheim at the finish line.

– Ah, this was incredibly good! says expert Mona Brorsson in Expressen’s broadcast.

Brorsson ended his professional career after last season and Anna-Karin Heijdenberg now looks to have good conditions for a fine first season in the national team uniform.
