Bianca Salming has a tough time behind her.
Now comes the big happy news for the 24-year-old.
She receives the great honor as one of this year’s summer speakers in P1.
The last year has been extremely difficult for Bianca Salming who around this time last year received the nightmare message. Dad Börje Salming had suffered from the incurable disease ALS.
Börje’s passing
It then went much too quickly and father Börje’s condition changed drastically in the fall of 2022. Bianca and the rest of the family rallied around Börje during the last time and fulfilled his wishes right up to the end.

On November 24, Salming fell asleep with his loved ones by his side. Over six months have passed since then and Bianca Salming has dealt with the grief by, among other things, focusing on her athletics career and training.

Bianca’s shock
She is one of Sweden’s leading all-rounders and has so far collected 13 SM gold medals in several different disciplines. Today also came the great news of joy for the 24-year-old who has been selected as one of this year’s summer speakers in P1.

On July 4, Bianca Salming has the great honor of opening up to the Swedish people in the popular radio program “Summer in P1”. She really didn’t think that would come true.
– When you got the request, it was mostly like a shock because I felt: “But God, I don’t have anything to share”. But when you sat down, it was a lot of fun to be able to raise what I want to talk about and it feels like a very great honor, she says to Sveriges Radio.

The track and field athlete also gives a small indication of what her summer program will be about.
– Maybe some news about the career and athletics, also thoughts that I didn’t want to share before but that I want to talk about now, she says in the interview.
