Swedish sports are keeping their fingers crossed for the legendary Börje Salming.
Now daughter Bianca Salming tells us how the last few days have been.
– I think it’s great that everyone gets in touch, but it also means that you are constantly reminded of what is happening, she says in an interview with Gefle Dagblad.
During the summer was Börje Salming in place to support the daughter Bianca Salming at the European Athletics Championships. Just a few months later, the hockey legend has become drastically worse from the ALS disease, he is tube-fed and can no longer speak.
Support for Börje
Last week it was revealed that the 71-year-old’s health has become much worse recently and that the course of the disease has gone seriously fast. Since then, the hockey world has come together to send their great support to Salming and also offered their help.

Now daughter Bianca talks about the strong feelings lately and the support for father Börje.

Bianca’s love

– You are with each other as much as possible and try to live as normal a life as possible. Try to help him as much as possible to make him feel as good as possible. That is the most important thing, she tells the local newspaper.

The 23-year-old wants to thank all the support that has come in the last week and is touched by the love that comes from the outside world. But she also has an appeal to the Swedish people who want so well.
– I have received a lot of love. And I think it’s great that everyone gets in touch, but it also means that you’re constantly reminded of what’s happening. I know everyone wants well, but sometimes it doesn’t help much to hear how horrible it has been for others who have experienced the same situation, says Bianca in the interview.

Track and field athletes admit that it is extremely stressful, everything that comes with this terrible disease. Now she admits how it affects her everyday life and emotional life.
– The thing that affects me is that I prefer to be with my dad all the time, but at the same time my life goes 200. Dad always goes first, but I know that he also wants me to continue with athletics and everything. It makes me feel good too, she tells the magazine.
