Bianca Salming’s big disappointment after the decisive decision – now opens up about the frustration

Bianca Salming has made a big change in her career.
But the weekend’s first major championship ended in disappointment.
– Sad that it turned out like this, she says herself to SVT Sport.

Before this summer has Bianca Salming made a decisive decision for his sports career. The Swede has replaced the all-around and instead switched completely to only investing in the high jump.

Salming’s effort

But her first major championship as a high jumper ended in sheer disappointment over the weekend. Salming took a well-deserved place in the Swedish squad for the Team European Championships in Poland after jumping 1.88m before.

Therefore, expectations were high for the 24-year-old’s performance. But Sunday’s competition did not go at all as she had planned and she was forced to give up already at 1.80m to great disappointment.
– It was a bit tough. It felt good in the warm-up, but I had a hard time getting started afterwards, she tells SVT Sport.
– It’s sad that this particular competition turned out like that.

Disappointed Bianca

Bianca Salming fell victim to the new rules that only allowed four total clearances throughout the competition, as opposed to three attempts at each height as is usually the case in high jump.
– It becomes a barrier when you know you only have four demolitions, admits the Swede in the interview.

Therefore, far too many demolitions at low heights were the downfall for Salming, who finished second last in the high jump’s A-final. The winning jump then took place at a height of 1.92 m.
– It shouldn’t affect. But I’m a little bit like that I can tear quite a lot to get started, but now you didn’t get that, so maybe I got a little tense, says a disappointed Bianca Salming to the Swedish TV channel.
