Bianca Salming has made her debut as a summer speaker.
And touched thousands of Swedes with his emotional words.
Now she wants to say a big thank you to everyone who paid tribute to her summer talk.
It was on Tuesday that Bianca Salming made his debut as a summer speaker. Just like dad Börje Salming did in 2014, she was given 90 minutes to open up to the Swedish people and decide all by herself what she wants to talk about, as well as choose her favorite music.
Salming’s grief
It is truly an honor to be able to speak in “Summer in P1” and Bianca took on the task with the greatest respect. She opened up about her own sports career as a track and field athlete and talked about how much training means to her and how it all started as a child.

After that, the 24-year-old opened up about the great sadness for her late father and then she touched thousands of Swedes with her emotional words.
“I remember how important family was to you. You were the one who made all the holidays, you were the one who dressed up on Halloween to scare all the kids, even though we all knew it was you. And then Christmas Eve… No one could decorate a house like you, Dad. Walking into our house was like magic. Always the finest Christmas tree and Christmas decorations in every corner,” says Bianca in the summer talk and continues:
“I remember the warmest side of you. How you met people we met in town, so genuine and humble, whoever it was.
I remember how you always sat in the stands and watched me. Regardless of whether it was the European Championships or the little cucumber game in Västerås.
I remember what you taught me: That first and foremost athletics should always be fun and that I should enjoy myself. The rest will be solved later”.

Bianca is celebrated
Bianca Salming then finishes the words about father Börje with sentences that go straight to the heart.
“I wish you had stayed longer, and that you could teach me everything you could so well. I wish I could join you on our walks and just talk life. I miss you so much dad and I hope I can be just like you one day,” she says.

Many Swedes have contacted Bianca after the strong summer talk and praise her for her courage to dare to tell her innermost feelings. Now she wants to send a big thank you back to everyone who listened and got in touch.
“Thank you for all the incredibly nice words I received from you yesterday… So much love! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!”, writes Salming on Instagram together with several personal photos from her upbringing, see below.
