Bianca Salming was a big success this weekend.
But was also annoyed by the sudden question about the father Börje Salming.
– It was a stupid question, she tells Sportbladet.
Last week announced Bianca Salming that she is making a big change in her sports career. In the past, she has competed in all-around but now chooses to make a bigger investment in only high jump.
Bianca’s success
This weekend it was an immediate success when the 24-year-old started his new high jump venture during Sollentuna’s GP. Salming struck with a year’s best, jumping a whopping 1.88m, which is just four centimeters off her personal best of 1.92m.

The question of Börje
The weekend’s competition was also the first at Sollentunavallen without a deceased person Börje Salming in the stands. She was also asked if she missed her father there, which caused a clear irritation.
– That was a bit of a stupid question. Of course, it doesn’t feel good that he’s not here, but I got a lot of love from others who are close to me and were here, says Bianca in an interview with Sportbladet.

Mother Katarina and her boyfriend were there to support Tobias Lindberg for Salming’s sake.
– Yes, his whole family was here. It was fun that everyone came and checked. I jump at my best under pressure, she says to the evening newspaper.

Bianca Salming, who will give a summer talk in P1 later this summer, admits that the investment in high jump feels very good for the future.
– Now I continue on this track and height has always been my discipline and the one that made me start athletics. I feel that I have stood still in sprints for quite some time and my gut told me that I should invest in a different discipline than all-around, she says in the interview.
– If I transform my body in terms of muscles, I am a high jumper. It may take time, but I feel ready to take the plunge.
