(Finance) – Chaired by Mario Mattioli, the Board of Directors of the Sea Federationmet on 28 November 2024, via video conference. The Council unanimously appointed Councilor for co-optation Biagio Mazzotta, president of Fincantieri and Assonave, pursuant to art. 10, paragraph 4 of the Statute, and, upon proposal of President Mattioli, Vice President of the Sea Federation. (art.14 of the statute).
With this position, the president of Assonave will be nominated by the Maritime Federation for the vice-presidency of ENMC – European Network of Maritime Clusters, which will hold its elective Assembly on December 10th. Furthermore, Biagio Mazzotta was appointed president of the “Inclusion, diversity, gender equality” Committee which from today will change its name to “Environment, Society and Governance (ESG – Environmental, Social and Governance).
After thanking the Council of the Federation of the Sea for having welcomed him into its team, Biagio Mazzotta stated that he was aware of the importance of the work carried out in recent years by the Sea Federation, and who will be happy to contribute to carrying forward the mission of the Italian maritime cluster to give a further boost to the development of the blue economy for the benefit of the entire country system.
“The Federation of the Sea, in fact – concluded Biagio Mazzotta – has demonstrated that it knows how to deal with the challenges that characterize these years, starting from energy and digital transition, and I am sure that he will be able to set himself increasingly ambitious goals. With commitment and dedication I will play the role of vice-president and I will give my contribution so that the Sea Federation continues to speak with one voice also in discussions with the competent national and European institutional representatives to identify the best solutions together”.
