Gardeners are formal, this product that everyone has in the kitchen is an effective solution and easy to implement to fight against weeds effortlessly.
If there is a long and tedious gardening task, and the gardeners hate, it is to eliminate weeds. We tear them away, and a few weeks later she reappears. It’s endless! And if they are not controlled, they can quickly colonize the area where they have settled. This is why gardeners are always looking for new natural and effective techniques to maintain their garden, without using harmful chemicals.
If white vinegar is often quoted as an ecological alternative to conventional herbicides to overcome weeds on the terraces, between cobblestones or in gravel, this is not the best solution. Many gardeners warn against this method. It can work on small weeds, or if there are very few. But if your goal is to get rid of it definitively, white vinegar is not the solution. He will simply burn the visible part of the bad. You will think that she is dead, but the roots are always intact. The bad grass will not end up repelling.
There is a much more formidable product and accessible to everyone to eliminate weeds between the terrace slabs and on the gravel areas, and which will prevent them from repelling. And good news, everyone has it in their kitchen: dishwashing liquid. Little known for its weful properties, this daily product turns out to be a major ally against weeds.
The dishwashing liquid has surfactant properties which allow it to break the waxy barrier covering the leaves of the plants. This action facilitates the absorption of other natural substances with weeding effects, such as vinegar. In addition, used alone, the dishwashing liquid acts by depriving the weeds of their ability to retain water, thus resulting in their progressive drying.
The use of dishwashing liquid to eliminate weeds is simple and requires only a few current ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid;
- 1 liter of water;
- Optional, but recommended: 1 cup of white vinegar
Mix the dishwashing liquid with water and white vinegar. Pour the preparation into a sprayer. Spray directly on weeds, avoiding the surrounding plants you want to preserve. Preferably apply in sunny weather to speed up the drying process.
Although this method is natural, it is important to use it in moderation. The dishwashing liquid can alter the quality of the soil by modifying its structure and reducing the absorption of water. It is therefore advisable not to abuse it and limit its application to the aisles, terraces and areas where unwanted vegetation proliferates.
