There’s a lot of rumblings at Final Fantasy XIV: The pre-orders for the new expansion Dawntrail are live and the rush is even breaking servers. So it’s better to play the MMORPG now, before it’s too late in the summer.
What happened last in Final Fantasy XIV? Final Fantasy XIV is currently one of the largest and most popular MMORPGs in the world. Square Enix’s game has delighted players worldwide since its relaunch in 2013 and has now received four expansions.

Pre-order rush crashes the servers
What happened with the pre-orders? Dawntrail pre-orders went live on March 26, 2024 at 10:00 am. There are a few bonuses for those who pre-order:
However, getting a pre-order at all probably presented greater challenges for many people. According to the game’s official X.com account, there were problems paying by credit card in the Square Enix store at 12:25 p.m. German time.
Those who wanted to pre-order via Steam probably simply didn’t receive a registration code:
Those whose pre-orders ultimately went through were faced with the next problem: the codes for the in-game items, which you were supposed to receive with the pre-order, arrived very late. Square Enix also commented on this via X.com.
In fact, Final Fantasy XIV regularly struggles with server problems at launch. The fact that it has now even hit the servers of the official store is new:

If you want to avoid the expected problems, we can only recommend that you only get started a few days after the official release of Dawntrail. Or get into Final Fantasy XIV right now. The game is currently between the last Endwalker patch and launch – so there are still enough players, but not as many as there will be at launch.
