Better pay for pizzas, team outings or employees: this is what Utrecht parties do with their fraction budget

Better pay for pizzas team outings or employees this is

Parties in the Utrecht council receive money from the municipality to do their work. This amount is independent of the compensation that councilors themselves receive. The faction staff must be paid from the group money, among other things. They prepare council meetings, perform administrative tasks and maintain contacts with citizens and the media. The fractions also pay for office supplies, postage and printing from this budget. And if groups hold a ‘heiddag’, or if they eat together, this money can be paid for. The parties can decide for themselves what they spend the money on. They account for this once a year, in an integrity report. The 2021 report was published recently.
