HJK suffered a defeat in Seville against Real Betis. The match was HJK’s last in the European League this season.
HJK lost to Real Betis 0–3 in the last match of the Europa League group stage.
The home team Betis was too tough an opposition for HJK, even though the Spanish team did not go into the match with the first fists. Real Betis will play in the Seville derby in the Spanish league on Sunday. In addition, Betis had secured their group victory and continued place in the first group of the Europa League.
HJK’s starting points for the last match of group D were not the best possible, when Perparim Hetemaj, Casper Terho, Miro Tenho and Aapo Halme were not in the lineup. Hetemaj and Terho had fallen ill on the way.
Betis created several dangerous goal chances in the first half, but HJK’s goalkeeper Conor Hazard was able to keep a clean sheet with a few exceptions. Betis went into the break with a 2–0 lead.

The group winner Betis and AS Roma, who beat Ludogorets at home with a score of 3–1, progressed from group D.
