The Halo series isn’t just one of the most important shooter franchises of all time; At the same time, we can say that it is the only series that has managed to save the entire platform. The original game spawned countless books, toys, television series and, of course, sequels. With 13 different games divided into more than one genre; With the relaunch of Halo Infinite, there’s a whole world of games to experience. Here is a list of Halo games to help you decide which games to play!
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo: Combat Evolved is competitive to its universe and narrative; emphasizing as much as multiplayer and giving both types of players something to live for; It is one of the rare first person shooter games. Halo’s entrance; begins with a disastrous emergency escape to the title ring, and quickly with the Covenant and the zombie-like flood; turns into a mystery surrounding the ongoing conflict. His last mission, which results in a high-speed escape sequence; It is one of the most exciting missions in all games.
halo 2
You control the Master Chief in about half of the game, but; in the other half you continue as the Covenant “Elite” warrior known as the Arbiter. The game encourages players to rethink the conflict and who is ultimately responsible for its continuation. Since Halo 2 was the first game to use Xbox Live; It could be an even more important milestone for the Xbox than the original game.
Halo: Reach
The much-loved Halo: Reach opted for a different multiplayer style than its predecessors, and the flow of a match; It allowed customization and special team powers that changed drastically. Temporarily locking your armor will protect you from damage; makes it durable. A solid Forge option also made it super easy to create custom maps and mods.
Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite preserves the world-building and memorable characters that made the series a hit; added exploration and collectibles to the game. There are a few rough edges and it started with a shortage of excellent multiplayer mods. However, very little experience in the game means pinching Master Chief with a pincer shot and in-game; compares it to the fun of mowing down enemy aliens with some of the best shooting mechanics.
Halo 3
Halo 3’s competitive multiplayer mode; We can say that it is a good reason for PlayStation 3 and Wii owners to be jealous. It is built on the foundation of the first two games; New weapons and an excellent selection of maps have also been added to the game. But their success was followed by the release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare less than two months later; weakened a little and this rivalry continued until 2019.
Halo Wars
Before the first Halo took shape as the first-person shooter we know and love; It began life as a real-time strategy game, and in 2009 Ensemble Studios used this iteration as inspiration for Halo Wars. Halo Wars was also one of the first real-time strategy games to successfully use a gamepad. The controls were simplified and Halo Wars was somewhat basic compared to its PC contemporaries; but it showed just how much potential the Halo franchise really has.
halo 4
After 343 Industries said original studio Bungie was quitting the game; He had the impossible task of developing a new Halo game. The task was even more difficult because Halo 3 had seemingly finished the Master Chief’s story. Apparently, the Reclaimer saga still had a lot to tell, and Halo 4 is the veteran Spartan’s; He saw himself landing on a mysterious artificial planet where he would encounter the Covenant alongside a new type of enemy called the Prometheans. 343 clearly influenced by Call of Duty; It took a different approach to Halo 4’s multiplayer by allowing players to choose their starting weapon.
Halo 3: ODST
We can say that Halo 3: ODST, which is different from other shooter games and gives more importance to tactics rather than total chaos, still has a lot of goodness that kills the aliens you expect. ODST included Halo 3’s multiplayer mode instead of its own, but includes additional maps and the Firefight mode also found in later games.
Halo 5: Guardians
In Halo 5: Guardians, which is on our list, the story was particularly derailed, but the diverse mission design and best-in-class audio and visual design helped make it worthwhile nonetheless. Halo 5: Guardians has also seen the biggest changes for multiplayer, which uses new Spartan abilities to turn the tide of battle, along with the aiming mode for more accurate shots. It also brought the massive Warzone mode featuring vehicles and AI-controlled characters.
Halo Wars 2
Who knew that the Fire Spirit would still be important decades after his first mission? In Halo Wars 2, set after the events of Halo 5, the team finds themselves thrown into the middle of a conflict involving a rogue Brute that could have implications for the entire solar system.
Halo: Spartan Strike
It kept the same perspective and core gameplay loop as Spartan Assault, but was a more ambitious game worthy of the Halo name due to the Promethean enemies being featured so prominently and having a more diverse environment. Unfortunately the game is no longer available on iOS, but can still be purchased on Steam.
Halo: Spartan Assault
Halo: Spartan Assault is a top-down dual-stick shooter rather than a first-person game, it was designed with mobile devices in mind and therefore isn’t as deep as its console and PC brethren. You fight the Covenant in short missions to clear them using your weapons and grenades, and despite having one of Halo 4’s most important characters, it doesn’t do anything interesting with the series’ lore or gameplay. It does the job on the go, but the ports for Xbox and PC are overwhelming.
Halo: Fireteam Raven
The maps look even more impressive in high resolution than previous Halo missions on a 4K 130-inch display, but their layouts are similar. As with previous Halo game releases, you’ll battle classic Flood and Covenant villains while meeting characters like Captain Keyes and Master Chief. Unfortunately, the short-lived experience is unnecessarily compelling. You can’t hide to reload during battles, and the pistol and shotgun are weaker than they were in the original game. Still, the graphics have improved with the game.
