Babies grow very quickly, and it’s not just their clothes that need to be changed regularly. This is also the case of the car seat! After the birth model (group 0+), you have to move on to a larger model, from group 1. If you don’t want to invest and, above all, do research several times, you can opt for a seat self-evolving, group 1/2/3! These grow with the child, and some can even be used from birth. We then speak of a group 0+/1/2/3 car seat. To be sure that it is a model of this category, look at the description. This must indicate that it can be used until the age of 10/12, when your child will weigh approximately 36 kilos. These models are scalable, in the sense that they adapt to the size of the child. The padding can sometimes be removed, the headrest and armrests can be adjusted to different positions, the fastening system changes. For babies, they offer a five-point harness, which can sometimes turn into a three-point as the child grows. Then, the harness can be removed, and the child secured with the vehicle’s seat belt. After making sure that the model that caught your attention meets all these criteria, you can look at the options. Some car seats are reclining, others swivel, which makes it easier to attach the child with the harness. You also need to make sure that the model is compatible with your vehicle. Finally, you have to ask yourself the question of fixing to the car. Do you prefer to fix it with the isofix system or with the seat belt? Some car seats offer both options, but not all do!
