The maximum speed limit in Sweden is 120 km/h, but elsewhere in Europe a maximum speed of 130 km/h is not uncommon.
However, maintaining 130 km/h on a long journey is not recommended in most electric cars, as the range decreases significantly when you increase the pace from 110 or 120 km/h.
The German car magazine AutoBild has now tested how far 25 different electric cars go on trips with an average speed of 130 km/h, reports Allt om Elbil.

German cars come the furthest
The fact that a German newspaper in particular looks at how far different electric cars go at high speeds is not surprising considering that many of the country’s highways have no speed limits at all.
According to the test, the electric cars that go the furthest at higher speeds also come from Germany.

The longest is Mercedes’ luxury road locomotive EQS 450+ with a range of 482 km.
In second place we find the BMW iX xDrive50 and Audi Q8 55 e-tron quattro, which reach 434 and 433 km respectively according to the test.

The Audi Q8 loses the least
Something that is also interesting to look at is how much the cars lose in range
The Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ did indeed have the longest actual range according to the test, but the range was at the same time a whopping 32 percent lower than the official figure of 711 km.

The electric car that lost the least was the Audi Q8 with 19 percent, followed by the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 4MATIC SUV with 22 percent, and the BYD Dolphin with 25 percent.
The electric car that lost the most was the Toyota bZ4X FWD with a loss of 47 percent, followed by the Citroën ë-C4X with a loss of 44 percent.
Volvo’s new smallest EX30 didn’t perform well either, underperforming its promised range by 43 percent in the test.
