Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag was recently voted the best game of the series on Reddit. User DeafPunter started a poll that included all Assassin’s Creed games and ranked them from best to worst. As a result of this survey, Black Flag came first, leaving behind other AC games by a large margin.

Black Flag received 106 votes. It was followed by Assassin’s Creed Origins with 43 votes and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with 41 votes. Surprisingly, fan favorite Assassin’s Creed II only managed to get 38 votes. It tied for the same number of votes as Assassin’s Creed III, despite being generally considered an inferior sequel.
Although one fan said, “Black Flag has always been the best game in the series,” some were surprised that RPG games ranked so high.
While it was strictly fan-voted, many were hoping Ubisoft would return to a more linear stealth game rather than open-world exploration. In fact, this wish came true with Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The next Assassin’s Creed game is expected to be released later this year. Of course, this is a guess, there is no official statement yet. The new game, which will be released under the name Assassin’s Creed: Red, will take the series to Feudal Japan for another open world adventure.
