An abandoned hangar without electricity – can it be a place for a spectacle? Yes, for Bergslagens Spektakelteater in Lindesberg it has not been an obstacle. Quite the opposite when the history of the area and some of its nationally known personalities are given new life.
The Korpspelen variety is based on the basic question of the significance of a place. Two pandemic years later than first thought, it will premiere on June 28.
“Very important area”
In modern times, Ramsberg has been characterized by several gloomy messages with the closure of schools, shops and libraries. But that has not always been the case.
– Gammelbo mill, the heart of Bergslagen and Ramsberg has been a very important area for Sweden’s creation as an industrial country. If you stay here – are you a looser then? Or is it the opposite of the countryside that builds the rest of Sweden? Says Staffan Blixt, who is responsible for the script, jointly written by six people.
Minimusical
Elsa Beskow is a familiar name to most people. But that she has ties to the area around Ramsberg is perhaps not as well known. She was inspired during her stay in the vicinity of the books about Tomtebobarnen and Blomsterfesten i täppan. The latter has inspired a variety show in the form of a mini-musical with newly written music.
During the weekend, it was rehearsed with makeup for the first time and at the last rehearsal, the costumes were tried on all 147 characters.
– We reuse some that we have used before. We sew a lot. Quite a lot comes from flea markets and we borrow some from each other, says Kajsa Forsberg who is responsible for the costume.
